PAKDD2014 Student Travel Award Application

Thanks to PAKDD Steering Committee, PAKDD2014 will provide a number of Student Travel Awards to student authors of accepted papers to help them defray part of the cost for attending the conference to present their work. The Student Travel Awards will be presented in cash to the winners at the conference reception. The amount of award for different winners may be different according to the needs of the applicants and the capacity of the fund. Typically, the amount for each award should be around USD $400.

Please send a single PDF file containing all the following documents to pakdd2014@gmail.com by March 15, 2014. The title of the email should be "PAKDD2014 Student Travel Award Application".

  1. An application letter: Please refer to paper number, title and author list of your PAKDD14 paper; identify the role of each co-author (advisor, collaborative professor/researcher, collaborative student, etc.); briefly describe your contribution in the paper and that of your co-authors.
  2. Financial issues: The amount of award you applied; an estimation of your cost for attending the conference (with some details); financial support you have got from other channels; how do you cover the other costs since the Travel Award could only help you defray part of your cost.
  3. Your CV.
  4. Proof of your student status: This can be a copy of your student ID card (with your advsor’s signature), or a letter from your advisor (with his/her signature). Please note that only full-time student is eligible for application of the Travel Award.
  5. Supporting letter of recommendation: 1-page recommendation letter from your advisor.

Notifications will be sent to the applicants by April 10, 2014.
